Support for CO₂GeoNet workshopen CCS EXPLORATION AND MONITORING” during 17th Annual Open Forum”

Background
CO₂GeoNet is a unique European Research Laboratory on CO₂ geological storage formed by a network of 31 public scientific institutes durably engaged in mitigating climate change. Each year CO₂GeoNet organizes an Open Forum with connected workshops gathering approximately 100 researchers, scientists, engineers and politicians from the world-wide CCS Community to present the latest advancements in the science and technology of CO₂ geological storage.

Goal
NORCE and CO₂GeoNet kindly asks Gassnova and CLIMIT to co-organize and sponsor a workshop on “CCS Exploration and Monitoring”. The main concept is to gather professionals currently working on CO₂ storage to discuss how can we design more efficient and cost effective monitoring programmes building on lessons from currently operating projects?

The workshop was successfully organized and carried out with more than 40 participants

Further Work
CO₂GeoNet is currently preparing the 2025 OpenForum and is looking into possibility to co-organize the workshop again
