Autonome ventiler for sikker lagring av CO₂

The project will develop a self-regulating valve that can shut off the penetration of CO₂ into production wells in oil fields where CO₂ is used for increased oil recovery. The same technology can possibly also be used in pressure-relieving wells in aquifers where CO₂ is stored so that the storage reservoir can be utilized more efficiently. This pilot project includes valve design, performance testing with CO₂ and well fluids, and meetings with oil companies on testing the valve in the field.
