CLIMIT encompasses the Research Council’s subsidy scheme for research and development (the R&D part) and Gassnova’s support for development and demonstration (the Demo part).

CLIMIT R&D

Research funds are announced six weeks prior to the application deadline. Applications can be completed and submitted from this time until the application deadline. An announcement can also be published at an earlier date as a planned announcement. Only when the announcement has been activated (six weeks prior to the application deadline) is it possible to complete and submit an application. CLIMIT Demo

CLIMIT Demo has no application deadlines and applications are processed as they are received. The processing time will depend on the scope of the application. A typical processing time is a couple of months after the application has been formally received. Applicants are encouraged to contact Gassnova before submitting an application. A contact person will be appointed to advise the applicant. The application form must be completed in Norwegian, while appendices can be in English.

CLIMIT continues to support the development of new ideas

The CLIMIT program will contribute to the development of promising CCS ideas towards the pilot and demo phase.

The goal of the support scheme is to develop ideas that can be further developed in projects that can be supported by CLIMIT R&D and Demo.Up to NOK 200,000 can be applied to projects to carry out technical calculations, cost estimates, patent applications, conduct workshops / “creative processes”.

ACT – Accelerating CCS Technologies

Ten European partners are working together in ACT with the ambition to fund world class RD&D Innovation that can lead to safe and cost effective CCS technology. The ambition of ACT is to facilitate the emergence of CCS via transnational funding aimed at accelerating and maturing CCS technology through targeted innovation and research activities. ACT is a so-called ERA NET Cofund, which is a new tool established by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation. CLIMIT Demo and R&D is the Norwegian partner in ACT.
