CO₂ storage illustrated by geological examples of land

The project will show the public that sandstone can be used as a storage rock for CO₂.

Along the road up to the waterworks in Valleråsen in Porsgrunn municipality are natural deposits of sandstone in the day. Here, the project has set up a sign explaining that sandstone can store CO₂. This exhibition was opened on 5 July 2012. The project has acquired two blocks of Brumunddal sandstone which is a porous sandstone with a nice rust red color. One of the blocks is installed outside Gassnova’s office in Porsgrunn. The second block will be displayed with signs outside the new science center in central Porsgrunn.
