Obtain fresh sample material of sealing rocks relevant for CO2 storage in the North Sea. Preserve insitue properties as best as possible in order to reduce uncertainty in analysis results. The material is planned to be collected in connection with exploration well 16 / 8-3, which will be drilled in late 2012 under the auspices of the exploration license group PL360. Equinor will collaborate with and make the material available to the R&D environments and will in that way also contribute to Research and publication within CCS. The collected material is made available free of charge for the CO2SEAL project. In addition, core material is available from a “science board” established by Equinor in collaboration with the CLIMIT secretariat to ensure optimal scientific benefit of the material.
