Simulation and Optimization of Large-Scale, Aquifer-wide Injection CO2 injection in the North Sea

Scope: - Calculate storage potential of CO2 large scale injection in the North Sea. - Investigating hierarchy of simplified methods for CO2 storage simulation. - Use simulations to understand long-term CO2 storage by comparing with experimental data from natural analogs. Results - Arranging Minisymposium at SIAM on: Using natural analogues to understand long-term CO2 storage. - Thermal and compositional simulation for the natural CO2 storage sight, Bravodome, presented at SIAM. - Systematic investigation of injection scenarios on formation in the CO2 atlas of the North Sea, Northern Sea and Barent Sea, one paper submitted and one to be submitted - 4D history matching of CO2 plume at Sleipner L9 including the geometry, talk accepted for GHGT and paper to be submitted - Investigations of effects of geomechanics and methods for efficient for large-scale effects: talk and paper for ECMOR. Poster for GHGT accepted paper to be submitted.
